Intel Got Hold of VR by Purchasing VOKE

Intel booth logosThe tech colossal today announced about their investment in Voke which is a virtual reality technology company which specializes in sports and music live streams events. The Company was founded in 2004. It was based out of Santa Clara, California. Voke previously also had raised money from Intel Capital and that too along with the NBA’s Sacramento Kings who have invested an amount in the company. The amount is said to be undisclosed. Voke creates a 3D live stream of events by using a stereoscopic, panoramic camera system that can be broadcasted to any Virtual Reality device. Voke also offers a wide range of 2D video streams for mobile devices, tablets, and TV.

The VOKE team brings expertise of more than 20 years and they had been successful in capturing the attention and also the imagination of the teams and broadcasters along with the Technology. James Carwana who is the general manager the Intel Sports Group also agrees with the thought.

Voke has their ties to Washington. The co-founders which is a team of husband-and-wife Sankar (Jay) Jayaram and Uma Jayaram who have worked together in order to launch the Virtual Reality and Computer Integrated Manufacturing Lab which is situated at Washington State University just before leaving for the Bay Area. Voke is quite similar to NextVR which is another virtual reality start up that recently have raised $80 million and also partnered with the NBA to stream live games in Virtual Reality.
