Qualcomm set to launch VR for Snapdragon Mobile Chips

Qualcomm the leading processor company for Mobile sets is all set to strike the currently red-hot VR industry by launching Virtual Reality SDK (System Development Kit) for developers to ensure the ease for inculcating VR features, Apps and Games for VR headsets and phones run by Snapdragon Processor. The company is aiming to make its place in the VR market by creating Virtual reality compatible Snapdragon Hardware.

Currently, Qualcomm’s 820-chip can be used in VR headsets for running VR based games and apps. Every major technology based giant wants to set foot in the VR industry as VR and AR are expected to hit the $120 Billion mark in the industry by 2020. Thus we can expect future VR devices to be graphically more efficient to support VR content than the current hardware. Also, this will also enable the developers to create softwares with more ease.

The development kit will allow access to developers for adding more advanced VR features while keeping the development procedure simplified. This will ensure an improved and powerful VR performance than current VR hardware. The Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 chip is available for latest Android handsets and will also accompany upcoming VR gadgets and headsets.

The SDK will be made available in the second half of 2016 and will come free for developers. The Snapdragon kit will brag about features such as digital signal processing sensor fusion which is used to integrate data from sensors such as gyroscope and accelerometer to provide combined results via Snapdragon sensor Core.

Qualcomm’s new Snapdragon is sure to get the developers as well as viewers excited all over with the promise of enhanced VR experience.
