Samsung recently announced a brand-new Gear VR that would now come with a Touch-sensing controller and that too with 70 titles. The Samsung announced at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona. If we talk about the controller, then it created to add an immersion at a much deeper level with the help of their motion sensors. The motion sensor is said to be an Initiate pad as well as trigger input. The update was uploaded on the Oculus Blog that Samsung Gear VR has been transformed and has received a new and an exciting partner in a form of Motion Controller.
The Gear VR controller is sort of a compact wand type device that comprises of the motion sensors, a circular touchpad and also of a trigger so that they will interact with the Gear Virtual Reality Content. The Controller is integrated well with a dedicated Home button, Volume Button and back buttons. The Controller is said to be compatible with all the existing Gear VR applications. More than 70 titles in the content are in the development phase which is being designed exclusively for the Controllers.
The controller is a single handed controller and is similar to the controller that comes with Google Daydream VR in many aspects. This input device can encourage the developers to create more content for VR mobile apps that will support the motion controllers across both the platforms. Every Gear VR that will be shipped will include the controller as a standard. It is said to be a reassuring move for all the potential developers, who are looking to support the new devices. The new Samsung Gear VR device will also support the same existing smart phone. The Company suggested that the Controller could be available for the owners of the current hardware.
