Launched via Steam in 2018 for Oculus Rift and HTC Vive, Hatsune Miku is one of the leading dancing Japanese characters in virtual reality (VR). Currently, it adds support to PlayStation VR in Japan with the studio making the videogame available to demo during the Magical Mirai 2019 Event in Osaka as part of the VR Game Experience Corner.

Hatsune Miku VR is a wonderful rhythm action title where Hatsune Miku sings and dances in the stage on various Japanese pop songs. You can catch the melody symbols flying out of the speakers at the back of the stage to earn points. Assuming the PlayStation VR version to be similar to the PC edition, there are likely to be 19 songs available. Some of the songs that will be played are-

  • Stella (by KotsubanP, illustration by KEI)
  • Sharing The World (by BIGHEAD, illustration apapico)
  • SLoWMoTIoN (by PinocchioP)
  • Singularity (by keisei, illustration rsk)
  • Amagoi Miseinen (by Wada Takeaki ‘Kurage P’)
  • Ievan Polkka (by Otomania, illustration Yukino Tamago)

You can choose from two modes of difficulty. Also, to make things interesting, the videogame features 7 dance stages to compliment the songs. Using the enhanced music video mode, you can watch any song from multiple angles with a choice of outfits.

The game features energetic and eternally happy Hatsune Miku – a character that the audience loves to watch singing and dancing. For more such information on VR versions of games, stay tuned to our blog.
