With the Google Chrome becoming available in Virtual Reality, long journeys aren’t going to be boring anymore. You will now be able to browse the web in the privacy of virtual reality as the company is adding the Chrome web browser to its Daydream VR platform. Exciting! Isn’t it? You can watch any YouTube video or read your favorite news in virtual reality. You just have to put on the VR headset and enjoy browsing privately through the internet in spite of having people around in your train journey or flight.

Chrome in VR mode has a ‘Cinema Mode’ that optimizes web videos for the best viewing experience. The latest version of this app is available as an update in the Google Play app store. Once you update the Chrome to the latest version, the app will show up on your Daydream VR homepage, you can start visiting web pages in virtual reality.

Chrome supports WebVR standard and features like saved bookmarks, incognito mode, voice search, and device syncing. It is built to be accessed across all types of platforms, regardless of the operating system. And with the launch of Chrome on Google Daydream View and the Lenovo Mirage Solo with Daydream, it can be launched directly from the homepage to browse and interact with any webpage while in VR. This’s announced in the company’s blog by Gordon Brander, Chrome UX Engineer.

Google Daydream VR is available on a range of phones including some of Samsung Galaxy phones and Google Pixel series such as Galaxy S8, Galaxy S8+, Note 8, LG V30, Asus ZenFone AR, Google Pixel 2, and Pixel 2XL.
